POLICE WARNING FOLLOWING SEAFORD BURGLARIES

November 25 2013.

Police in Seaford are warning residents to be extra vigilant after recent burglaries in the town. Sometime between 6.00am on Wednesday November the 20th and 10.00pm the following evening, a house in Southdown Road was broken into after a downstairs window was forced open. An untidy search took place and items of jewellery were stolen.

An attempt was also made to enter a house in nearby Steyne Road between 7.30am and 2.00pm on Thursday. The would-be thieves tried to force open a rear conservatory door, though no entry was gained.

These two offences come after another burglary occurred at a house in Meads Road on Saturday the 16th of November, when jewellery and portable electrical items were stolen, after entry was gained via a ground floor window.

Sergeant Stuart Mullins said: "It is thought that these offences are all linked, given their close proximity and the likelihood that they were all committed during the day.

"We are urging everyone living in the area to be on their guard and to be wary of anyone looking out of place or acting suspiciously. If you see or have seen anything suspicious don't hesitate to contact the Police, if necessary on 999.

"Anybody with any information about these crimes or any others is asked to contact us on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serials 1257 or 1532 of 21/11. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
