SEAFORD STATION SPRUCED

November 14 2013.

The Seaford Station Community Scheme was a great success on Saturday the 26th of October, when organisers Sylvia Dunn, chair of Smarter Seaford and Jenny Thornton, Southern Rail, along with six volunteers, managed to clear the disused track bed area of brambles, weeds and rubbish.

Sylvia and Jenny reported: "It was a great morning. Even the sun shone. We managed to clear the whole area ready for the next stage, which will be to prepare and level the ground ready for planting.

"We would like to thank all the volunteers for giving up their time and for their hard work."

Sylvia and Jenny are already planning the next date and will be once again looking for volunteers. "This is a very exciting project. Seaford Station is 150 next year and we intend to have the station looking at its best ready for the celebrations."
