LAST CALL FOR RIVERSIDE PARK PETITION SIGNATURES

October 12 2013.

The petition to transfer Riverside Park to Newhaven Town Council closes today and will be presented to Lewes District Council at the next Council meeting on Wednesday, the16th of October. Hundreds of people have already signed the e-petition (linked below) or the paper version, supporting the call for the Park to managed locally in order to safeguard and maintain it for the enjoyment of future generations.

It was clear from the level of support and interest at the Riverside Park Community Voice Open Afternoon in September that Riverside Park is highly valued and that residents want to see its future as a community asset protected locally. The transfer of the land is the first step to realising some of the ideas for the site that residents have put forward.
