SEAFORD BONFIRE SOCIETY COUNTDOWN TO THE BIG DAY

Throughout the year members of Seaford Bonfire Society have been hard at work fundraising, building and planning for its this year's big event on Saturday the 19th of October.


The Society has attended many community events this year, including Bishopstone Fete in May, Downs Fun Day and the Donkey Derby. A sponsored shave a pirate day in July raised £60.69 on the day and £383.33 in total.

The big event on the 19th promises to be even more spectacular than previous years and is due to start from the Society’s HQ at The White Lion in Seaford at 7.15pm. Every Society wants to have the most talked-about bonfire in Sussex and Seaford certainly plan to be in the running this year!

The programme for this year’s event can be found at these and other locations in and around Seaford; The Baker in Broad St, Linda’s Store in Bishopstone, British Legion, Cinque Ports, Foam & Fabric Shop, M & Co, Office Bar, Old Boot, Paul's Plaice, Phoenix Hair & Beauty, Pipers News in Alfriston Rd, Retro Market, Seaford Con Club, Seaford Main Post Office, Seaford News in Broad Street, Seven Sisters pub, Star Dry Cleaners, Tourist Information Office, Toytown, Walmer Road Convenience Store, White Lion Hotel, Harri Natts, Ambers Florists, Angie's News & Seaford Health Shop.

The Society has also been attending bonfire events around Sussex since early September and is welcoming many visiting Societies to Seaford on the 19th of October, as well as the Pentacle Drummers, Horsham Borough Band and Beach Bateria Samba Band and Dancers.
