The weather forecast looks like we are in for a dry weekend, so why not get out there and support the local music, film, market and model railway demonstrations, and if you stumble across an event we haven't listed, tell the organiser to let us know at news@haven-news.com

The weekend starts tonight with the Oscars! Yes - It's Oscar Night at the Seaford Community Cinema, while over in Newhaven It's another MAD Music Hall of Fun 3 night at the Meeching Hall and up on the hill at South Heighton, its the rocking blues with Blooz Out (pictured) playing at The Hampden Arms.

Saturday morning sees the newly re-generated and bustling Newhaven Market offering a wide and interesting range of stalls, and this week there is a Facepainter to keep the kids amused while the adults take a wander. Meanwhile, over at Paradise Park the Newhaven and District Model Railway Club will be giving demos and advice. On to the evening and Newhaven is the place to be with MAD playing the final Music Hall of Fun 3 at the Meeching Hall, while at The Hope, at the end of the West Quay, local band Random is back to full strength with singer Sarah's first gig since her voice problems.

Sunday sees Newhaven and District Model Railway Club back at Paradise Park giving demos and advice.
