PRIZES FOR NEWHAVEN BLOOMERS

September 23 2013.

Paradise Park was the place to be for the award winners of Newhaven in Bloom 2013. The main sponsor hosted the event attended by Graham Amy, former Mayor of Newhaven, Esther Beerling, the President of the Seahaven Lioness Club and the Newhaven in Bloom Team, headed by John and Cindy Adams and Fran Kerr and Mark Curtis, Plant Area Manager at Paradise Park.

Tribute was paid to the hard work of Jim Kerr, who worked with the Bloom team and sadly passed away this year and who will be dearly missed.

Best School was won by Harbour Primary, (formerly Greys), garden club, pictured above receiving their prize with teacher Inga Elphick. Michael Elliott swept the board in the kitchen garden and bee friendly classes. A tremendous result for Irene and Michael Ruff who had only been working on their garden a short while, who won the best front garden group.

Violet Tully and Linda Duddy were contenders for joint silver in the best balcony and pots group and best overall garden was won by Stephen Dodds.

Congratulation were expressed to all who took part and the hope that they will participate next year.
