NEWHAVEN LIFEBOAT PRESENTED WITH HIGH DEFINITION CAMERA BY LEWES ROTARY CLUB

August 2 2013.

Michael Craggs, president of Lewes Rotary Club, presented second coxswain Lee Blacknell with a Wi-Fi enabled GoPro 3 full high definition waterproof extreme sports camera last weekend.

The camera and various mounts will enable Newhaven's Severn Class Lifeboat team to be able to capture full high definition footage of rescues, even in the most difficult of conditions.

Lewes Rotary Club members then watched the crew training aboard Newhaven's Severn Class Lifeboat David and Elizabeth Acland off the Sussex coast.

Second coxswain Lee Blacknell thanked the Lewes Rotary Club and explained: 'This camera is a fantastic tool to enable us to share more of our rescues in full high definition. The wide view also gives a much bigger perspective of the scene.'
