OPEN GARDEN WEEKEND

June 13 2013.

Treat your Dad to a leisurely trip round five local gardens this weekend as part of his Father's Day treat. The Group opening of Seaford and Bishopstone gardens is part of the National Gardens Scheme, with a £5 fee covering all five gardens, with children going free.

The times are: 11.00am to 5.00pm both days (Four gardens Sat 15th and three on Sun 16th).

The five gardens are:

Driftwood
Daily Mail finalist and Winner of the Garden News Gardener of Year Best Small Garden, Driftwood is home to over 400 varieties of plants and shrubs, cleverly combining wooden and metal features with the landscape and space to sit and admire the view.

Sandgate Close
A green and tranquil haven with a delightful mix of trees, shrubs and perennial borders, with gazebo, summer house, water features, sweet pea arches, and courtyard garden. Both with no lawn. Home-made jam for sale.

Barrack Cottage
Partly walled, five acre chalk garden, with rose garden and several garden rooms in Bishopstone Village.

Two new gardens; 1 Buckthorn Close and Elizabeth Cottage
The former, an integrated combination of flowers, fruits and vegetables. The garden majors on 3D landscaping to create mood and enclosure and yet preserve views and openness. The latter, a small but delightful garden stocked with cottage plants, mature ginkgo and silver birch.
