TWO SEAFORD RESTAURANTS TARGETED

June 3 2013.

Police in Seaford are warning the owners of commercial premises, particularly restaurants, to be on their guard after two burglaries in 24 hours.

Between 12.30am and 10.00am on Thursday the 30th of May an attempt was made to force open a rear door to the Shah Jahan restaurant in the High Street. Entry wasn't gained and the lock to the rear door held despite being bent back.

The next day, Friday the 31st of May, the New Dynasty Restaurant in Claremont Road was burgled between 12.05am and 8.30am. Again a rear door was attacked and this time entry was gained and a small amount of cash stolen from the till.

Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly from any local residents who may have been awoken by the noise of the doors being forced.

PCSO Cathy Clarke said: "Most commercial premises and restaurants do not leave cash on the premises overnight and I am visiting all those in the town centre to make sure that they do not. If you live in the town centre and hear or see anything suspicious overnight contact the police using the emergency number or if you have any other information let us know using the 101 number."

Any information about the burglary and attempted burglary ring 101 quoting serial 0343 of 31/5.
