Combined Operation - Seaford Rotary and Seahaven Branch of 'The Royal Society of St George' combined forces to bring a new water heater to the St James Trust's drop in centre at the Old Town Hall in Seaford.

On Monday 20th May the two branches, representated by their President's, Paul Vaesen and Don Mabey MBE met the Trust's Chairman Bryan Turner at the Centre. The new heater draped in the flag of St George had been fitted over the weekend in time for the presentation which the two Presidents did jointly by removing the flag.

The Rotary President, Paul told the group how important Seaford Charities are for Rotary in the town and that it was a privilege to help out. Don Mabey for 'The Royal Society of St George' said "One of our Committee members, Cllr Margerita Scarfe is also a member of St James Trust, told us of the need for this heater. It was too expensive for us to buy on our own but Seaford Rotary thankfully helped out and for that a very special thanks is due. Without Rotary Support in this case we could not have helped this vital local charity in this case."

The Trust's Chairman, Bryan Turner, thanked the two organisations for the gift and explained how the Charity is functioning and how valuable this latest gift will be. Witnessing the presentation were Cllr Margerita Scarfe, Laurie Holland, Frank Holland and Maureen Peedle all from St George, and Janet White, Treasurer of St James as well as a member of St George."

The Royal Society's Branch Chairman, Bob Peedle MBE said "This was a first class example of cooperation between two local volunteer groups to help another group. Having been an honorary member of Seafor Rotary I knew that they help out in a case as this. The St James Trust is a most worthwhile local charity that deserves all the support it can get.
