NEW PLANS FOR HARBOUR PRIMARY SCHOOL

May 10 2013.

Newhaven Town Council is to discuss the new plans for the Harbour Primary School and Nursery site in Church Hill, Newhaven at a meeting of its Planning Applications Committee next Tuesday, the 14th of May at Meeching Hall, Fort Road, Newhaven at 7.30pm.

The plans involve the removal of the external amphitheatre and the construction of a two storey building to the northern corner of the school site.

The new building is to accommodate the Nursery on the lower floor, with two classrooms above. The existing conservatory to the rear of the school will also be removed and replaced by a two storey extension to accommodate a further two classrooms.

The plans also include a new car park layout and associated landscaping.

It will be East Sussex County Council which makes the decision on the planning application, but Newhaven Town Council is able to comment on the plans on behalf of the town.

There will be an opportunity at the meeting for members of the public to speak, so if you have an opinion about the plans, you had best get along there!

The plans can be viewed online at
www.lewes.gov.uk/planning/1139.asp (reference LW/13/0302) or in person at the Newhaven town council offices at 18 Fort Road, Newhaven.
