ALADDIN SCORES SEAFORD SUCCESS

April 30 2013.

The award-winning Seaford Musical Theatre Juniors (SMTJ) company received rave reviews from the audiences of last week's show 'Aladdin', written and directed by Paula Woolven, and performed at the Barn Theatre, Seaford.

The volunteer-run community group show had a cast of 38 young people, who come from 15 different local schools and colleges, a mix that director, Paula, believes is part of the success of the organisation.

She said: "There is no 'pecking order' or problems transferring from school time to 'out of school' activities. The children have met and bonded through the group and they really look forward to seeing each other once a week for rehearsals. In a safe, fun environment their confidence has grown tremendously through performing and I am very proud of them all."

Local comedy magician and SMTJ Chaperone, Sam Jones, thrilled the audiences with magic tricks whilst performing as the Genie Kazim.

SMTJ welcomed guests from local organisations that have supported them, including NP&S Lions, Seaford Rotary Club, the Royal Society of St George and the O2 ThinkBig project. They also held a raffle and donated £100 to Haydn's Wish in memory of Haydn Wileman who was known to many of the cast and crew.
