COUNCILLORS CALL FOR ACTION ON HEALTH

April 19 2013.

Following the highly successful march for health in Seaford last Saturday, Norman Baker MP and his colleagues are calling on the Clinical Commissioning Group to take urgent action to deliver outpatient clinics in Seaford.

Norman Baker, Councillor Carolyn Lambert and Councillor Steve Saunders have written jointly to Dr Martin Writer, Chair of the Clinical Commissioning Group for Eastbourne, Seaford and Hailsham asking him to make this his top priority.

Councillor Steve Saunders explains: "Seaford residents have been waiting patiently for these services for nearly a decade. The public march showed the strength of feeling in the town where many of our residents are elderly and have mobility issues. They simply cannot afford to travel to hospitals in Newhaven, Eastbourne or Hastings which cannot be accessed easily by public transport."

Councillor Carolyn Lambert adds: "There are Seaford residents on the Clinical Commissioning Group and I would urge everyone to write to them asking them to support our campaign. Frances Hasler and Jack Barnes are part of the governing body who will be making decisions about our services and they need to know how people feel."

They can be contacted at 36 - 38 Friars Walk, Lewes, East Sussex. BN72PB.
