JO BLOGS - MAIL
April 16 2013.
The mail has been flowing in since Jo Pettitt's recent blog landed here at Haven News. Some we can publish and some....
The unpaid bill is NOT a rumour - they owe just over £300 to MB builders, a local firm in Newhaven who carried out an upgrade to the Old Bakery and the old dry cleaner's shops in preparation for the waterpark shop. The cost of these works was agreed to be split 50/50 between the landlord and Round Table - the landlord has since paid his half, but nothing from Round Table.
Round Table, (or KEH - take your pick), wanted an asbestos survey on the two shops, as the one the Landlord has is rather old, (KEH felt), and they wanted the landlord to pay for both the new report and any works needed.
The landlord said that as they were getting both the shops for well below the market rate - and on a very short, easy exit lease, he wasn't prepared to pay.
Nothing has been heard from the waterpark people at all, despite letters from the landlord's solicitor chasing the unpaid bill.
By my calculation, £300 odd is roughly 0.00000008% of the £350,000,000 spend.....
Draw your own conclusions dear reader.....
