FLORENCE OFF TO PERU

April 2 2013.

Seaford based Girl Guide Florence Hardy, 14, has been supported by the Rotary Club of Seaford to travel with London and South East Region Girl Guiding, to work in a service project in Peru this summer. Florence will work in a home for abused children with disabilities near to the capital city of Lima. The home was established by Brighton based charity, Kiya Survivors.

Florence will be working to build a classroom for the school and will be assisting with teaching the young people. She says: "I'm really looking forward to the Peru project. I'm going with Guides from all over the South East and I'm happy to be able to help young people who have less than I have. It will be a real adventure and I can't wait to visit Machu Picchu."

Florence has been a Guide for four years and is the first in her Unit to receive the Baden Powell Award.
