On Friday the 15th of February, Newlands School in Seaford had a non-uniform day in support of Rotary International's campaign for the global eradication of Polio. This raised an excellent £241, enough for around 2500 vaccinations. Last Thursday, Seaford Rotary's President, Paul Vaesen, accepted a cheque from Head Boy, Ed Bree, and Head Girl, Abbie Jaques, at the school. In return Paul presented them with a Certificate of Thanks in recognition of their efforts.
Paul said: "I am delighted that we have been able to engage with Newlands School on this project, and I must thank the students, staff and parents who have made this possible. Polio now only exists in three countries in the world and, with a concerted effort, it can be eradicated fully. Newlands School has helped to make this happen."
