FRIENDS OF TIDE MILLS FEBRUARY REPORT

February 20 2013.

Jim Skinner reports:

On Sunday the 17th of February, eleven members of the Friends of Tide Mills held their first meeting of 2013our January meeting was not held due to snow.

As usual we managed to clear an amazing amount of litter, 22 sacks in all, which given we haven't collected for two months was possibly not too bad, but still 22 sacks too many in the ideal world.

We also erected our Ringed Plover nesting signs for the year. As always we ask that visitors respect the area marked out to allow these very special and rare birds every opportunity to breed again. Please minimise disturbance as much as possible. The signs will be found towards Newhaven East Pier.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Sunday the 17th March. As always we are very happy to welcome new members to our friendly little group. Please contact me at brian.skinner2@btinternet.com for more details. Our aim is to keep Tide Mills cared for, as it is for everyone's enjoyment, so if like us you share our appreciation of this special place, please do join us - We look forward to meeting you.

Jim Skinner.
