A van stolen from Newhaven has been recovered in Lindfield after its 'tracker' device activated.

On Tuesday morning, the 15th of  January, the owner of the Piaggio Porter pick-up van, which belongs to a poster advertising company, found that the van had been stolen overnight whilst parked in Avis Way, Newhaven. However, its covertly installed electronic 'tracker' device had activated and the tracking company was able to advise that it was in Lindfield.

After further enquiries the exact location was confirmed and on the following day officers went to an address in East Mascalls Lane, Lindfield, and found the van. A 31-year old woman was arrested on suspicion of theft. After interview she was released on police bail until 18 March while enquiries continue.
