LEWES POULTRY LANDS ON NEWHAVEN WEST QUAY

January 11 2013.

Lewes Poultry landed in Newhaven just before Christmas and has been open to the public for the past three Saturdays while the company completed its permanent move from Lewes to the former Newhaven Fish and Flake Ice Society building on Newhaven's West Quay. The company is celebrating with an open day tomorrow, Saturday January the 12th, with a hog roast and a display of the varied meat products that it has to offer both trade and retail customers.

"It's been a hectic time moving at such a busy time of year for the meat trade, but we are up and running now and we are delighted at the early response to the retail shop," explained Lewes Poultry owner Geoff McTiffen.

The company has been servicing the meat trade for over seventeen years from its Lewes premises, supplying butchers, hotels, restaurants, educational and catering customers and opening to retail customers on Saturday mornings. The opportunity came to move to Newhaven and Geoff sees it as a real positive move for the company.

"People may be a little confused initially by the name of the company, because we are no longer in Lewes and we actually offer far more than just poultry. But we invite trade and retail customers to drop in and see our wide range of meat and poultry products and we think they will be back for more."

Lewes Poultry is located on the West Quay, opposite Newhaven Fire station in Fort Road. So simply aim for Newhaven Fort and turn into West Quay opposite the Fire Station and follow the signs. The hog roast starts tomorow at 10.30am.
