December 21 2012.The pre-Christmas weekend is almost with us and oh what fun we have in store as we aim for the big day, so get out there and join the fun... Start the extended weekend off with a
Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long at The Ark in Newhaven from 6.00pm to 8.00pm, then climb the mountain to
The Hampden Arms up at South Heighton where the ever popular
Brass Monkeys are swinging and singing and rocking and rolling from 9.00pm. Or you could head over to
The Cinque Ports in Seaford where Folk Rock favourites
Bucklers Reel will be Folking and Rocking, also from 9.00pm.
On to Saturday and it's the
Seaford Rock and Jazz Orchestra Christmas Cracker at
Seaford Head Upper School Hall, Arundel Road from 7.30 to 10. Tickets are £5, with concessions (under 16 and Seniors) at £3. Tickets are available at the door, or can be reserved by ringing Peter on 01323 897360.
In Newhaven there is a great choice of music with a
Christmas Jumper Disco at The Hope, where you can dig out those awful crimbo jumpers and dance to some cheesy tunes, or there is
Reggae Magic live at
Newhaven Social Club from 8.30pm - £2 entry on the door for non-members. Meanwhile, down at The Ark, guitar led, top pub band
Full House (pictured) will be playing from 9.00pm.
On to Sunday and
The Ark stays busy with a promising set from well-known local musicians
Oli and Chaz making their duet debut from 9.00pm. Certain to be a goodie.
Monday is Christmas Eve, in case you have forgotten, and once again
The Ark will be jumping through 'til 1.00am with top local band
Welcome To Nutsville playing and promising a mystery special guest from around 9.00pm. Meanwhile, up at The
Hampden Arms there is a
Vintage Disco for lovers of the 60's 70's and 80's.
