MAN ASSAULTED AND ROBBED IN SEAFORD

December 18 2012.

A man was assaulted and robbed as he walked up Blatchington Hill, Seaford, early on Sunday the 16th of December.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the 23-year-old victim was approached by a man between 1.35am and 2am as he walked away from the town centre. He assaulted the victim and demanded his phone, wallet and PIN number for his bank card. He then made off with the mobile phone, wallet and bank card.

The victim received minor injuries to his face and chipped teeth. The suspect is described as white, aged about 19 or 20, with short, clippered hair, about 5' 5' tall, fat and spoke with a southern accent. He was wearing a dark, plain zip-up hoodie and dark blue jeans.

Detective Sergeant David Tye said: "We are seeking any witnesses to the incident, or anyone who recognises the description of the man involved in the attack. The phone stolen is an old Sony Ericsson Elm handset, with very little resale value, which may have been dumped by the attacker."
