Specialist meat and game supplier Lewes Poultry is opening a new retail shop in the Old Fish Market building on the West Quay at Newhaven tomorrow.

Proprietor Geoff McTiffen already has a successful client base of hotels and commercial customers and has opened the doors at his Lewes premises on Saturdays for the public for some years, selling poultry, game and 'much much more'. It his hoped that these customers will now visit the new outlet in Newhaven and enjoy the opportunity to call in at the fish sellers close by.

Councillor Steve Saunders said: "The Fish Society, including Dave Scott and Dave Guy have worked with Geoff to bring this building, which has been empty for some years, back to life, and it is hoped that they will share in the regeneration that the port looks set to enjoy, from all that has been announced recently." 

The shop will be open for business from 8.00am tomorrow and there will be an official  grand opening in January.
