CHRISTMAS CRACKER EVENT IN SEAFORD

December 10 2012.

Popular boogie band The Seaford Rock and Jazz Orchestra is launching family Christmas in style with its "Christmas Cracker" event on Saturday 22nd December.

The band, many of whose 9 to 25 year-old players are veterans of up to seven overseas tours, plays Seaford Head Upper School Hall in Arundel Road from 7.30 to 10. Tickets are £5, with concessions (under 16 and Seniors) at £3. Tickets are available at the door, or can be reserved by ringing Peter on 01323 897360.

Rock and Jazz Orchestra plays jazz, boogie, rock and pop, and of course Christmas favourites. There will be dancing! There's also a Wine and Beer bar, and a raffle.

This local band has played the closing performance at Seaford Live for the past two years, raising £355 for the Sussex Air Ambulance, and this year £415 for Seaford Lifeguards. They've also supported the local St. Wilfrid's Hospice and played fund-raising Summer Balls for Herstmonceux Amateur Theatrical Society. This year's Christmas event is to boost the band's own instrument fund.

This is entertainment to suit all the family and even ends early enough for night-birds to go on to pubs and clubs afterwards.

Rock and Jazz is always keen to hear from any youthful players in the area who would like to join them. Most of the concerts are during university and college holidays, so students can still take part. The best way to find out more is to come along on the 22nd.
