HAVEN NEWS WEEKEND PREVIEW

November 30 2012.

Christmas is coming and the season kicks off this weekend with some festive fun and some fine music and entertainment to help it along. So let's all get out there and be jolly. Yo ho and ho again...

Friday night is..... Ladies Night! Well - It is down at The Ark in Newhaven. Ladies only for the start of the evening in aid of 'Remember Spencer' the local children's cancer charity. £20 including dinner, wine, eyebrow threading and a male auction. So ladies, if you fancy either getting hold of, or indeed getting rid of a male of some description, get on down to The Ark from 8.00pm - 10.00pm. From 10.00pm onwards it is open to everyone, with music from local covers band That Should Cover It.

Up at the Hampden Arms in South Heighton, The Conspiracy, a rock band with great reviews from the Horsham area will be playing from 9.00pm and local fun ska band Fat Belly Jones are at The Jolly Boatman in Newhaven.

On to Saturday and yes - It's the first of December! Christmas wouldn't be Christmas in Seaford without the Rotary Club of Seaford's Sleigh making an almost daily appearance somewhere in the town in the run-up to the Big Day. The Christmas Sleigh-Trek starts at Broad Street where the Sleigh will be based from 10.00am through to 1.00pm. For more details and Sleigh dates and venues visit the Rotary Club of Seaford's website at www.seafordrotary.org.uk

Don't forget the Christmas Market at the Clinton Centre in Seaford from 10.00am. And don't forget the rest of the shops either!

On to the evening and the Seaford Choral Society is performing Handel's Messiah at St Leonard's Church in Seaford, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets £10 available from Seaford Tourist Information Centre, Newberry Estate Agents, or ring 01-323-896309.

On the popular music front Markham and Lodge will be playing at The Ark from 9.00pm and That Should Cover It are in action again over at The Bay Tree Inn in Seaford from around 8.30pm.

Sunday appears to be a day of rest again....
