NEW CLUBHOUSE FOR SEAFORD HEAD GOLF CLUB

November 29 2012.

Seaford Town Council has approved the finance for Cheesmur Building Contractors of Beddingham, Lewes to build a new clubhouse at the Seaford Head Golf Course.

The new building will be funded by a 25 year loan of £1,717,000, an application for which has today been made for government approval. Planning permission was approved, subject to conditions, on the 14 of June 2012.

Councillor Ian White, Leader of Seaford Town Council said: "I am delighted that we can now go ahead and build the new clubhouse which has been promised for a number of years. I look forward to seeing it completed next year."

The clubhouse will not only provide new facilities for golfers, it will have a flexible space which can be used by the public and local organisations to hold a variety of events. It will include a full catering kitchen and bar with an outside balcony, where users of the facilities can take advantages of the panoramic views of Seaford Bay.

Construction is expected to commence early in 2013, with completion by the end of 2013. Temporary accommodation will be provided in the meantime to ensure Golf Club members and other golfers can continue to enjoy their golf during the construction period, when the course will remain open for business.
