The Seaford Twinning Association was founded as The Friends of Bönningstedt in 1983 and took Seaford into a twinning with this German town close to Hamburg in 1984. There have been annual visits ever since, and one of the prime movers has been the Seaford Silver Band.

Since Bönningstedt twinned with Crivitz, a town that was in the old East Germany, the Association has also had links with that town as well, and these links have widened to include Crivitz in Wisconsin, USA. Peter White, the Town Crier of Seaford, has also been invited to become the Town Crier of Bönningstedt and the two Crivitz twins.

The Association is always keen to welcome new members. Activities include monthly social events and there are plans for holding German conversation evenings in a Seaford pub for anyone interested and to help link clubs and societies in Seaford with their German counterparts.
