MNDA NEWHAVEN CHARITY QUIZ NIGHT SUCCESS

October 29 2012.

On Monday 22nd October 2012, The Ship Hotel in Newhaven hosted a charity quiz night in aid of  MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association).

The night was a great success and a total of £147.54 was raised from entry fees, the raffle and donations, that will be donated to the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Motor Neurone Disease is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. It can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. However, not all symptoms necessarily happen to everyone and it is unlikely they will all develop at the same time, or in any specific order. Although there is currently no cure for this disease, symptoms can be managed, to help sufferers achieve the best possible quality of life.
