October 26 2012.
The weather is on the turn and we are in for a coooool weekend according to the forecasters. So let's keep warm by getting out there and supporting all the music and artistic delights in store for us in the Haven.
It's Halloween, so get on your mask and your pumpkin head and hit the streets tonight, starting off with
Halloween Fancy Dress and live music at The Hope with live music from the
Mojo Crew. From 9.00pm. Up on the hill at the
Hampden Arms in South Heighton,
Mickey Hart and The Hartbreakers bring you some good old fashioned Rock and Roll, while back in Newhaven High Street
Kangaroo Juice will be rocking it at
The White Hart. We don't usually cover the music scene 'Up North', but local band
Random are making the long journey up to the
Abergavenny Arms at Rodmell tonight and they are always worth a trip to listen to.
Seaford seems quiet tonight though....
On to Saturday morning and don't forget the
Newhaven Market, even if the Newhaven Market apparently forgets to tell anyone that it is happening....
Seaford comes alive at last with
Friends of the Crouch - Draw your Pooch in the Park. Visit the Crouch between 9am-11am and draw a picture of your dog, to be featured on the new Pooch-in-the-Park tea towel (available to buy nearer Christmas if enough dogs take part). You don't need any artistic skills, experience, or materials! Free to enter.
Saturday and Sunday are
Handing in Days for Artwork for Arts@the Crypt Open art exhibition at the Crypt Gallery, Church Street, Seaford. 10am - 4.30pm Saturday. 10am till Noon Sunday.
On to Saturday evening and
The Black Fields (pictured) are playing at
The Ark in Newhaven from 8.30pm,
The Riffz are at
The Shore from 9.00pm and down at
The Old Boot, the new management is having a good go with a
Halloween Masquerade & Fancy Dress Ball with
DJ Daniel Crowley of Seahaven FM fame from around 8.30pm.
Sunday afternoon and
Seaford Family Focus Group and The Exchange Project invite you to Pumpkin Party. A free family event from 3.00pm - 6.00pm at Crouch Gardens, Seaford. Pumpkin Carving, Storytelling, Face Painting, craft activities, live music, hot soup, tea and cakes and at 6.00pm a Twilight Lantern Parade. At 6.30pm pumpkin judging and prizes. Entries submitted at £1 per entry.
Back at
The Old Boot again and
Driving Miss Daisy are playing from 4.00pm.
