Only afternoon tickets are available for today's showings of the Newhaven Film Society's launch film, My Week With Marilyn. The Art Room at the Hillcrest Centre in Hillcrest Road has been fitted out with a professional projector, lights and blinds for the new venture.

No membership of the Society is required and tickets are £4.50 per person. The evening performance at 7.30pm sold out on the first day bookings opened, but there will be an additional Matinee showing of the film at 4.30pm and tickets are available at the Hillcrest Centre reception - Telephone 01273 512376. Refreshements are available and the Hillcrest Café opens at 4pm for the matinee and 6.45pm for the evening showing.

Films will be shown on the third Saturday of each month. A black comedy The Guard is on November 17th and the original Some Like it Hot starring Marilyn Monroe is on December 15th.
