HAVEN NEWS WEEKEND PREVIEW - UPDATE

October 19 2012. Late updates in red...

With a wonderful wet weekend to look forward to, let's look on the bright side; at least it's not cold. Yet... Anyway, us tough Haveners don't worry about a spot of wet weather. We just get out there and carry on anyway, and this weekend there is plenty of music, entertainment, art, charity events and fireworks. So let's get out there and enjoy it all....

Friday night gets it all started with Fat Belly Jones rocking it up at the Hampden Arms, while down at The Ark its Chinchilla Zilla playing covers from the 60's to NOW from 9.00pm and over in Seaford it's the regular Friday night School Disco at The Shore. And Random at The Bridge in Newhaven apparently...

Saturday morning gets under way with the Newhaven Market in the High Street and the Newhaven Mencap Jumble Sale from 12 noon to 3.00pm at the Riverside Hall. Over in Seaford it's the Newhaven & District Lifeboat Society Coffee Morning at St Leonards Church Hall from 10.00am to12 noon and the Eastbourne Life Group at The Crypt starts a daily run from 10:30am daily though until Thursday the 25th.

Newhaven Film Society's first film, My Week With Marilyn has two showings at 4.30pm and 7.30pm. The evening is sold out but tickets are available on the door for the afternoon showing at the Hillcrest Centre.

On to the evening and back to The Ark in Newhaven for one of our favorite local bands - Welcome To Nutsville (pictured) from 9.00pm

It's a BIG night in Seaford with the Seaford Bonfire Society annual torch lit procession and Fireworks Display. It all starts at the White Lion Hotel and ends with a free firework display at the Martello fields. Lots going on throughout the town, including an outside bar and BBQ at The Old Boot Inn.

Alter the whizzzz... BANG! Of Saturday night, take a quiet root round at Tidemills on Sunday morning for the monthly Tide Mills Monthly Beach Clean-up from 10:00am to Noon. Just turn up and start picking. If in doubt over the weather, check with the website, and local forecasts.
