Next Saturday, the 6th of October, Newhaven Fort will be joining in with the national 'Big Draw' campaign and inviting visitors to help create a large coral reef around the walls of one of the old casemates.

With the aid of local art organisation, Highlight, the School Room at the Fort will be turned into an enchanting tropical reef using just highlighter pens on white paper, magically transformed by UV light. The activity is designed to encourage people of all ages and abilities to get involved and enjoy creating a collaborative piece of art. Artists from Highlight will be on hand throughout the day to give demonstrations and help those less confident in their abilities.

The theme is inspired by Highlight's Carbon War exhibition, which is on display at the Fort until th 4th of November.

Of course, the Fort's wonderful permanent displays, Searchlight Café and gift shop will also be open as usual.

Newhaven Fort is open from 10:30am - 5pm (last admission 4pm).
