An ambulance was called to deal with a woman who had collapsed in Cavendish Place on Tuesday 17th of July at 3.00pm. It parked by the junction of Elms Road and Cavendish Place as there were large crowds of people watching the torch pass along the route.

There was then an altercation between the South East Coast Ambulance Service driver and a man who was standing nearby. No patient was being treated at the time.

PC Chris Yabsley said: "I am aware this was a while ago, but there were hundreds of people in the town for the Olympic torch. We are asking for any witnesses to come forward who saw or heard the incident."
