BATTLE OF BRITAIN - SEAFORD WAR MEMORIAL

September 17 2012.

On Sunday 16th September a small group gathered at the Seaford War Memorial to remember those brave young men and women involved in the Battle of Britain in 1940. Leading the commemoration was Seaford Freeman, Don Mabey, President of the Seahaven Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association and Squadron Leader Peter Bonfield, the past Chairman.

This year the branch was not able to arrange the usual annual church service and parade.

Don Mabey was also the guest on SeahavenFM's programme 'Forces on Parade', with broadcaster Bob Peedle, where the Battle of Britain was discussed.

On Saturday 22nd September the battle will again be remembered at a special Battle of Britain Dinner held by the Seahaven Branch of 'The Royal Society of St George' at the Seaford Head Golf Club.
