HAVEN NEWS WEEKEND PREVIEW

Well the weather and the forecast has been improving throughout the day and it's all looking good for a weekend of sunshine here in the Haven. And what a packed weekend of events we have for you as well. So, as ever, get out there and enjoy it, you lucky Haveners!

Seaford Live! - www.seafordlive.org - continues on throughout the weekend and with it Seaford Musical Society's "We Built This City" runs until Saturday night at The Barn Theatre, Saxon Lane, Seaford. This is an original production and has had great reviews. It runs from 7.30 pm tonight and tomorrow and a 2.30pm Saturday matinee. Tickets are available from Seaford Tourist Information Centre. Adult £8, Child £5, NUS £7. There is also a 'Little' Seaside Show running tonight and tomorrow at The Little Theatre. Tickets on the door from 7.30pm

The Archway Choir is at the Con Club from 7.30pm and there is a Folk Club Singaround at the The Royal British Legion from 8.30pm

Completing the evening's Seaford Live! menu, Blues and Bluegrass quitarist John Crampton is at the The Old Boot from 9.00pm. He's good. Really good.

Newhaven has its share of music tonight and up at the Hampden Arms in South Heighton, one of our favourite local bands, Welcome to Nutsville will be hitting all the right notes from around 8.30pm, while in the High Street, The Gangsters are holding up the White Hart from 9.00pm

On to Saturday and yes - It's Zumba! Drag your sleepy bones up to the Hillcrest Centre in Newhaven from 9.30 to 10.30 and then skip on down to the High Street to snatch a bargain or two at the Newhaven Market,

Over to Seaford and the afternoon Live! fun continues with Nick Webb at the Tansleys Yard Buskers Corner from 1.00pm and Seaford Folk Club have an Open Mike session at the Office Bar from 1.30pm. Terry Lees Delta Blues Guitar Workshop is at the Royal British Legion from 2.00pm. Barber, Taylor and Reed with John Cave are at the The Crouch Gardens from 4.00pm

The Seaford Seven Art Exhibition by local artists is at the Crypt Gallery, from 10.30am-4.30pm and runs through until Thursday the 20th.

Into the evening and in Seaford, Morning After offer a session of Soul, Motown and Blues covers at the The Con Club from 7.30pm, there is Karaoke at the Cinque Ports from 8.30pm the Brass Monkeys at The Shore from 9.00pm and Ten Ton Badger at the The Crown also from 9.00pm.

Over in Newhaven and our friends The Firm, (pictured above), are at The Ark from 8.30pm and there is a Fish and Chip Supper plus entertainment. at Denton Church Hall from 6.30pm. Tel 01273 514482 for tickets.

Sunday sees the Seaford Rotary Club Car Boot Craft and Produce Fair at the Martello Fields. Sellers 7.30am- £8 per car. Public access free 9am-1pm. Donations to Rotary Charities.
 
It's also the Tide Mills Monthly Beach Clean-up from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Tide Mills beach between Bishopstone and Newhaven. No membership fees, just turn up and start picking! Newhaven In Bloom prize giving ceremony is at Paradise Park at 2.00pm
