SEAFORD MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER

Robert Beck, 58, of Dane Road, Seaford has been charged with the attempted murder of a 33-year-old woman.
Beck, a community family worker, was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday 11 September after police and South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to his home. His victim, who is known to him, was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital with an injury to the back of her head caused by a hammer. She has since been treated and discharged.
Beck appeared before Brighton Magistrates' Court today and has been remanded back into custody until his next court appearance on 28 September.
