SEAFORD MUSICAL THEATRE JUNIORS LIASE WITH AWARD WINNING AUTHOR

September 7 2012.

The Seaford Musical Theatre Junior section was delighted to take part in a story-writing workshop as part of 'Beyond The Torch Run', a community arts engagement project by local artist and Paralympian Kristina Veasey. The event was funded by the Arts Council and the workshop was led by Giley Paley-Phillips, author of 'The Fearsome Beastie' and winner of the People's Prize Literary Award.

Ten SMT Juniors, aged between 8 and 16, took part and enjoyed creating story boards, pictures and short plays, with Giles's help, based on friendship, diversity, the local landscapes and the spirit of the passing Olympic Torch.

Some of the work created by the children will be on display at the Crypt Gallery, 23 Church Street, Seaford from 10.30-6pm on Tuesday 11th of September and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Wednesday 12th of September, as well as other workshop displays and pieces from artists Jo Brown, Simon Wood, Kristina Veasey and Tony Anderson.

Further details about the project can be found at www.beyondthetorchrun.co.uk
