To commemorate the Battle of Britain, Newhaven Fort will be hosting a day of 1940's nostalgia and remembrance this Sunday, the 9th of September.

The annual Battle of Britain Commemoration Day will start at 10.30am with a special programme of events and activities throughout the day.

Visitors can take a step back in time with entertainment including the Seaford Silver Band playing classic war time tunes, a special performance from Haven Harmonies and the Brighton Boogie dancers demonstrating energetic Swing and Jive dance routines.

The Fort is also delighted to welcome back the fabulous Swingtime Sweethearts singers, a duo specialising in 1940's classics.

An array of period military vehicles will be setting the scene on the Fort's parade ground and there will be a number of living history groups taking part.

Women's Land Army members will also travel from all over the south to meet with old friends and colleagues for their annual reunion at Newhaven Fort.

Tickets are priced at £6 for adults, £5 concessions and £4 for children and can be purchased on the door.
