DON'T LOSE YOUR VOTE

August 29 2012

Residents in the Lewes District have been urged to make sure they don't lose the chance to have their say in the Police and Crime Commissioner elections, taking place on Thursday 15 November.

Over the past two months, households in the Lewes District will have received an annual canvass voter registration form which must be returned to Lewes District Council by Monday 8 October. Those who have not received, or have lost, the form can call (01273) 484116 or 484117.

You have to be on the electoral register if you want to have your say in the first Police and Crime Commissioner elections.

LDC estimate that 8,988 households have not returned their forms. Some wrongly assume that paying council tax means you are registered to vote.

LDC is urging all those eligible to vote in the Lewes District to return their form as soon as possible.

For more information, contact your local Electoral Services Office on (01273) 484116 or 484117.
