POURING MONEY DOWN SEAFORD'S POTHOLES

July 31 2012.

Press Release from East Sussex Liberal Democrats:

At the recent meeting of East Sussex County Council, Councillor Carolyn Lambert challenged Councillor Carl Maynard, Lead Member for Transport, on management of the County Council's track record on potholes.

Councillor Lambert explains: "A resident in Seaford brought to my attention recent pothole repairs. Contractors were unable to fill in a pothole just yards away from where they were working, because it was not on their worksheet. They then went off to Hastings to fill in a single pothole. This cannot be good value for money for the ratepayers of East Sussex.

"Councillor Maynard's reply that this was an operational matter completely ducks the responsibility the County Council has to monitor delivery of services by its contractors and he should look into this as a matter of urgency."
