SEAFORD BACK TO THE DARK AGES - PART 2

July 30 2012.

Geoff King writes again:

Having arrived home and parked on my driveway at just before 1.30am this morning, I thought I would wait a few minutes and see what might happen regarding the street lighting.

Sure enough, at about 1.30am, one by one, as presumably the street lights have individual timing mechanisms, the street lights went out.

So now we know for sure that we are no longer getting the full services that ESCC charge us council tax to provide. So perhaps the time has come to reduce the council tax, just like ESCC has reduced the street lighting?

Also, given that this, and neighbouring roads, are a designated 'neighbourhood watch' area - the official sign at the start of the road says so - how are we supposed to 'watch' anything when we are in the dark?

Is ESCC going to issue us all with torches?
