Get ready, get set and get going during the holidays with a bumper programme of activities for young people in Newhaven this summer.

The Newhaven Summer Activities Programme co-ordinated by Wave Leisure runs from 23rd July until 4th September. With different local organisations involved in running the programme it will give 0 - 24 year olds the chance to try something new, meet new people and visit a different venue every day from Monday to Friday.

Activities include N.I.P.P.E.R.S. at Shakespeare Hall; Karate, Dance, Dodgeball and Big Bounce at Shakespeare Hall; Cricket, Tennis, Fun Football and Play Out in Fort Road Recreation Ground; Youth Drop In at Denton Island Community Centre; Skate Out at the Fort Road Skate Park; Youth Club at the Lewes Road hut; employment and return to work programmes from Sussex Downs College at their Denton Island campus; family play days at the Newhaven Children's Centre and regular swim and fun sessions at Seahaven Swim & Fitness Centre.

Newhaven Town Council has co-sponsored the programme. Newhaven Mayor, Cllr. Graham Amy said, 'This is a great summer initiative brought about through positive partnerships with local organisations working together. It gives the town's young people fun and stimulating things to do over the holidays.'

The printed programme will be distributed shortly and available from the Swim & Fitness Centre and Town Council offices.
