HAVEN NEWS WEEKEND PREVIEW

July 13 2012.

Well. We have nearly made it through Friday the 13th, so let's all do our best to celebrate in style and hit the towns tonight and over the weekend to support our local events and businesses.

The stage is set for a loud night at The Ark down on Newhaven's West Quay with the B.P.M UV PARTY mixing up all your favourite tunes from dance to drum 'n' bass, to funky house. Expect to hear the latest chart club remixes from back in the day and be sure to dress bright on the night!

Meanwhile up the hill at the Hampden Arms in South Heighton, rockers 8th Day will be, well, rocking from 9pm.

On to Saturday and the Seahaven Swimming Gala is at Seahaven Swim & Fitness Centre, in Chapel Street, Newhaven.

Due to a sad lack of support, the MENCAP Table Top Sale at Riverside Hall has been cancelled. Look out for the MENCAP Summer Fair on August the 4th and do your best to make it work.

South Heighton Village Hall Management Committee Annual Summer Fete is to be held in the Village Hall, not the recreation ground, due to the lovely summer weather we are having. 2.00pm - 5.00pm. Don't complain if the roof leaks....

It's back to The Ark at 9.00pm with top local band Welcome to Nutsville, (pictured above), putting their own mark on a range of well-known cover numbers. A great evening guaranteed.

Along the coast at the VBar in Seaford, Chris Tullet is back for a night of pop, chart and dance and is not to be missed from 9.00pm.

Sunday and yes, it's that time of the month again already and the Tide Mills Monthly Beach Clean-Up from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Just turn up and start picking! If in doubt over the weather, check with the website, and local forecasts. Email brian.skinner2@btinternet.com or go to http://tidemills.webs.com/friendsoftidemills.htm for details

Hang around for the Tide Mills Historic Guided Tour at 2:00pm. Meet at the Buckle Car Park, Marine Parade, Seaford. Tickets £5. A donation from ticket sales is made to Seaford & Alfriston Parish Churches. For more info, contact Seaford Tourist Information on 01323 897426.

Rain or shine, wind or calm and the Lifeboat is there to save life and limb. So rain or shine, wind or calm, the Newhaven & District Lifeboat Society Seaford Garden Party will be on from 1.30pm to 5.00pm at 31 Sutton Avenue, Seaford. Cream teas, surprise tombola, bric-a-brac, various stalls, homemade cakes and Seaford Silver Band. Held in aid of Newhaven Lifeboat and Water Aid - two well deserving charities.

If we missed anything, or any details are wrong or change for whatever reason, then drop us an email at news@haven-news.com and we will spread the word.
