Saturday the 14th of July will see Seaford celebrate the UK's year of sport with a demonstration of and participation in a range of the various sporting activities available within Seaford.

The event will commence at 2.00pm with a racing start by sailing boats to take a flame from Newhaven & Seaford Sailing Club to the Martello Tower. At 2.15pm, the flame will continue its procession to Seaford Head Lower School in Steyne Road on foot for an afternoon of fun-packed games and sports.

Amongst the attractions will be table tennis, netball, running, cricket, football, cycling and tug of war. The afternoon events are all being organised by local Seaford clubs to encourage visitors to have a go at each of the sports.

The afternoon will finish at 4.30pm with Cllr. Tony Nicholson, Chair of Lewes District Council, presenting medals to the  participants.

In the evening the celebrations will continue with a beach BBQ back at the sailing club. The evening event is ticket only and interested parties should contact the Sailing Club direct on 01323 890077.
