UPDATE 2 - MORE REPLIES TO 'NORMAN TO BOYCOTT INCINERATOR OPENING'

Latest update: June 25 2012.

MR GRUMPY  BACKS NORM
I agree with all that Norman Baker says.

As for being an alien intrusion, I would much rather have the view of the downs back instead of looking at this silver blot on the landscape.

I too sincerely hope that all our local councillors and representatives boycott this event.

POWELL POINT
I don't understand Paul Abbott's remark. Norman Baker has always been opposed to the 'incinerator', does he expect NB to lay down in front of heavy trucks or something?

I always said I would leave this country as soon as possible after the 'incinerator ' was permitted and I shall be in October 2013.

DECISION TIME
I am in two minds whether or not to "boycott" the opening. Normally, I would have said I wouldn't be seen dead with anything that even chose to have dealings with the incinerator, let alone be present at its opening.

On the other hand, I do have some slightly off eggs and some very squidgy tomatoes I could do with getting rid of...

Decisions decisions.

SHPC CALL TO ARMS
It would be a good idea for South Heighton residents and those affected by the proposed increase in road traffic, (lorries full of stinking rubbish), to the incinerator on bank and public holidays to gather around on the day with a big banner spelling out to the press how Veolia is still trying to add insult to injury by applying to have one of the few conditions set down by the original planning approval changed, so that the good people who live near the main road into the incinerator get to hear and smell the lorries when they want to enjoy the peace and tranquility of their homes and gardens. Not to mention the increased rubbish that is regularly distributed up and down the A26 and A27 by some of the lorries coming and going from the incinerator.

MAN OVERBORED HAS HIS SAY...
Well done Norm for having the cojones to say it like it is. I think they could do so much more and I have a plan, as always, to make lemonade where there is a glut of lemons. Or dogsh**ade, whatever.

There is no smoke. It's steam.

SHOWBOATING
I suggest Mr Baker hangs his head in shame over this. When he could have made a difference he chose not to.

Now there is very little we can legally do to change things or shut this cancerous carbuncle down he comes out of the wookwork.

He is showboating. Exactly and only what he is good at.

Paul Abbott

SMOKEHOUSE SUPPORT
Well done Mr Baker. My views in a nutshell.

I wish the Tory Councillor who said he would be 'proud' to open this hideous eyesore was forced to live in the vicinity of the smoke which wafts continuously over my house!
