One Royal Jubilee Celebration Double-Extended Bank Holiday weekend barely over and a plain old normal weekend about to begin. What lucky, lucky Haveners we are. But there again, there really isn't anything plain and normal about a weekend, here at the the very centre of the known universe. So get up, get out and get supporting your local events and businesses!
It all kicks off up at the
Hampden Arms this evening with popular local covers band
Welcome to Nutsville getting the weekend rocking, rolling and dancing from 9.00pm til late. Get up there and support your local talent.
Friday may have been a rare quiet one, but Saturday is busy and varied. Start with a
Zumba Fitness Class from 9:30 - 10:30am at the
Hillcrest Centre in Newhaven and then wander over to the
Newhaven Market in the High Street for a bargain or two. Don't bleat about the High Street if you don't back it!
Over in Seaford it's the start of the
Society of Sussex Painters Exhibition at
The Crypt, running from 10:30am - 4:30pm daily until Thursday the 21st of June.
Seahaven Scouts Boot Sale runs from 9:00am to 1:00pm at
Seaford Head Lower School in Steyne Road. Sellers in cars are £6 and vans £10 and need to be there at 8.30am.
It is
St Luke's Summer Fete at 2:00pm at
St Luke's Church in Walmer Road, Seaford. There are Birds of Prey, delicious cakes, refreshments, raffle, tombola, gifts, plants/produce, books, bric-a-brac, hot dogs, face painting and more.
There is an
Alzheimer's Society and Research Fund Raising Event from 11:30am to 5:00pm at
42 Marine Drive, Bishopstone, with ploughman's lunches, coffee, afternoon tea, home-made cakes, raffle, books, bric-a-brac, plants and more.
Into Denton and its the
Denton Jubi-Lympics at
Denton Field, (opposite Tates), from 1.00pm to 5.00pm. Proceeds to St Leonards Church and the James Daniels Memorial Fund. Lots of fun and games. For further information

At
Newhaven Fort it is
Living History Weekend. Meet the living historians and find out about military life in different eras from Napoleonic times to WWII. Enjoy guided tours and get hands-on with some of the artefacts usually kept behind glass.
This is running throughout the weekend.
Saturday night and
Seaford Twinning Association is holding another of its famous
Fish and Chips and Bingo nights at
Seaford Town Hall. The event starts at 7.30, but for access reasons potential participants should arrive at least five minutes beforehand to gain access.
Into the music and in Seaford the
VBar has a
Chart/Dance Night. All the latest tunes and big Tracks to be played with DJ Chris T. Over at
The Ark in Newhaven, it's local band
Kangaroo Juice, (pictured above), rocking from 9.00pm onwards
Sunday sees the
Seaford Rotary Club Boot Fair from 9:00am to 1.00pm at the
Martello Fields, while at
The Salts it is the
Mr Cycles Cycle Festival which includes the Seahaven 100 ride-out and lots of two and three wheel fun and action. To find out more

Seaford Town FC at
The Crough, the club is celebrating its
youth achievements and everyone is invited to join in the fun. Live band - dance acts - prizes and a paella party serving from 1.00pm.
Over in Newhaven the
Newhaven Tennis Club Open Fun Day runs from 2.00pm to 5.00pm at
Court Farm Road. There is a free try out of tennis for adults and children of all ages.
