Not long to go until the Newhaven Fish Festival - this Saturday, 2nd June - and this year, to coincide with the Jubilee weekend and celebrate the London 2012 Olympic Games, there will be more activities happening on the West Quay and along Fort Road. Newhaven Community Development Association and Wave Leisure are working in partnership to provide 'Community Olympix' at this year's Fish Festival.

At the Fort Road field there will be mini Olympics from 11.00am to 1.00pm, as well as a bouncy castle, and then the mini Olympics will move down to the West Quay from 1.00pm to 3.00pm.

There will be traditional races for all ages on a specially marked running track at the end of the West Quay. Races such as egg and spoon, sack race, relay races etc. Every participant will get a medal and winners will get winners certificates!

Local sports clubs will be represented with activities such as 'Beat the Boalie' and there will be a short tennis court, and there will be a Tug of War for local teams to participate in for charity at West Quay hosted by The Hope team.

All of this as well as the children's parade, Dieppe Market, displays of locally caught fish, cookery demonstrations, Morris Dancing, Art and Crafts, Punch and Judy, fairground rides, stalls, music and more!
