TELEPHONE PROBLEMS CONTINUE IN NEWHAVEN AND SEAFORD

May 9 2012.

BT Group has announced that there are continuing problems with some telephone services in the Brighton, Eastbourne, East Dean, Hailsham, Newhaven, Pevensey, Ripe and Seaford areas of East Sussex. They are currently working to restore service to everyone as soon as possible.

Sussex Ploice advise that if you have a serious emergency, you should first try both landline and mobile telephones to call '999'.

If this does not work flag down any emergency service vehicle that is not using their blue lights, or go to the nearest police station, hospital or fire station to report the emergency.

Extra police patrols are out on the streets and additional fire resources are being sent to the areas affected.

You can also dial 101 in a non-emergency.

Services are expected to be back to normal by 5pm.
