Meeching Amateur Dramatics (MAD) is bringing Michael Cooney's riotous farce, 'Cash on Delivery' to Newhaven. Identity theft is not usually the stuff of combustible comedy, but when it results in mistaken identities, mixed signals, ill-timed interruptions and the rest of the detritus of classic farce, it becomes a comical tour de force.

This farce centres around the antics of Eric Swan, who (aided by his Uncle George and unbeknown to his wife Linda), has pocketed thousands of pounds through fraudulent DSS claims. Throw in the antics of the lodger, Norman, an undertaker, bereavement counsellor, a psychiatrist, fiancée, corpse and a rebellious washing-machine and you have a very funny evening's entertainment.

The production runs over two consecutive weekends from Thursday to Saturday, 17 to 19 and 24 to 26 of May, starting at  7.45pm each night, except Saturday 19th when there is a matinee only at 3pm.

Venue is the Meeching Hall, Fort Road, Newhaven. Tickets £8 (Matinee £7) from Meeching Estate Agents, High Street, Newhaven Tel. (01273) 515566.
