Well the sun is still shining as we get into the weekend and what a weekend we have in store for you lucky Haveners...

Friday night is Folk Club Night and Seaford Folk Club present Roy Clinging, who offers 'a strong vocal style and adept use of the English concertina and acoustic guitar' at the Royal British Legion club from 8.00pm.

In Newhaven it is the Mayor's Charity Quiz Night at the Meeching Hall, Fort Road. Cost is £3 per person with teams of up to six. Get there at 7.00pm for a 7:30pm start.

Top Rock and Roll band, Micky Hart and the Hartbreakers will be taking you back to the 50's and 60's at the Hampden Arms from around 8.30pm. A good, fun rocking night guaranteed. We know - we've seen them.

Back down in Newhaven Town centre, DJ Sam aka Fresh Functions set the sounds and the scene at The Ship from 9.00pm.

Saturday offers a packed menu of fun, functions, entertainment and more. Start the day with a work out at the Zumba Fitness Class from 9:30 - 10:30am at the Hillcrest Centre in Newhaven, then wander over to the Newhaven Market in the High Street for a bargain or two. All you Newhaveners can then wander down to the Lewes Road Hut at the recreation ground for the Town Council Surgery from 10am to 12.30pm. This is an opportunity for you to meet their local councillors and raise any issues they would like to talk to them about. No appointment is necessary.

Celebrating Cultural Diversity Day? Well you can do at the Denton Island Community Centre. Pop in and join in.

There is a Plant Sale at Denton Church Hall from 10am to 11.30am, offering plants, a raffle and refreshments. Stay on an to enjoy a 'Journey to the Galapagos Isles' with Jenny Coote from 7pm. Tickets £4 to include tea and a scone.

The Hope Inn at the end of the West Quay at Newhaven is celebrating St. George's Day a couple of days early with a Help for Heroes fund raiser, starting at 12noon and going through til 'late'. Tug of War, Face Painting , BBQ and The Loggerheads playing live. A very English menu is also promised

Half way round the Haven and the Bishopstone Art Group is holding an Art Exhibition at Bishopstone Parish Hall in Bishopstone Village from 10.00am to 4.00pm. There is free parking, free entry, light refreshments and a raffle.

Back over at Seaford and The Seaford Silver Band Spring Concert is at Seaford Head Community College Hall, Arundel Road, Seaford from 7.30pm Tickets available on the door.

Further into the night and it is Drum and Bass Night at The Bay Tree in Pelham Road, Seaford from 8.30pm and still more Drum and Bass at The Vbar from 9pm.

Back to Newhaven and top jazz band, The Lost Organ Unit will be raising the roof as The Ark from 9.00pm, while at The White Hart it's Karaoke from 9.00pm.

Sunday sees the Seaford Cricket Club Family Fun Day at The Salts from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Lots to do for all the family.

The Hampden Arms is celebrating St Georges Day with a traditional English roast beef lunch followed by home made apple crumble for just £8 per person.
