WOMAN CRITICAL AFTER A26 CRASH


April 10 2012.

An 88-year-old woman from Peacehaven, who was a front seat passenger in a Ford Fiesta car was seriously injured following a collision with a Fiat Punto, driven by a 19-year-old man, on the A26, Beddingham, Lewes, yesterday.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene of the collision at 4pm and the road was closed for four hours. 

The driver of the blue Fiesta, a 63 year old woman from London, recieved minor injuries and was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and has since been discharged.

A 19-year-old man from Middlesex who was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving has been bailed until 18 June pending further enquiries.
